GREEN BUILDING INITIATIVE™ TECHNICAL COMMITTEE TO MEET FEBRUARY 11-13 IN CHICAGO

- Consensus Committee to review public comments from second public comment period for GBI 01-200XP proposed American National Standard -

Portland, Ore. (January 2009) – Today, the Green Building Initiative (GBI) announced that its technical committee will meet in Chicago on February the 11 through the 13 to review public comments submitted as part of the second public comment period on GBI’s Proposed American National Standard 01-200XP: Green Building Assessment Protocol for Commercial Buildings, which is based on the Green Globes® environmental assessment and rating system. The second public comment period closed on December 9, 2008 and almost 300 comments were submitted for review by the consensus committee. 

"The second public comment period was extremely helpful.  The public provided input allowing the committee to clarify technical issues and changes that resulted from our first public comment period in April," said Vicki Worden, GBI staff liaison to the GBI technical committee and Vice President of Commercial Programs. "The February committee meeting should result in a final round of changes to be reviewed again by the public in the spring.  The committee expects to finish their work on this version of the standard in mid-2009."
