New Version of Green Globes® for New Construction

The latest version of Green Globes for New Construction (NC) was announced June 4th, 2013. This version contains all the program features users have come to rely on such as a transparent and interactive process that includes readily available customer support, a web-based survey to enter project data, assignment of a third-party assessor to provide feedback throughout the process, and the on-site building assessment that results in an individualized final report.

The program also includes the following major updates:

  • New criteria developed by an ANSI-approved consensus body
  • Increased focus on Energy, with four paths for Energy Performance
  • Increased focus on Materials & Resources:
    • Emphasis on life cycle assessment
    • A new approach assessing building assemblies, furnishings, finishes and fit-outs by utilizing multi-attribute certifications, and/or third-party assessments by approved standards development organizations
  • Complete coverage of the federal government’s Guiding Principles for New Construction, with an individualized report detailing level of compliance (click here for details)
