Top Story Newell Rubbermaid's global corporate headquarters in Atlanta, GA recently became the first building in the state to achieve a certified rating with the Green Globes™ environmental assessment and rating system. Georgia Governor Sonny Perdue was among dignitaries attending a special dedication ceremony at the building, where Erin Shaffer, vice president of federal outreach for the GBI, presented leaders from Newell Rubbermaid with a plaque recognizing the building's achievement of two Green Globes. GBI has announced a second letter ballot and public comment period for its proposed American National Standard. Interested parties have 45 days—from October 24 to December 8, 2008—to review changes made to the proposed standard for commercial green buildings, which is based on the Green Globes environmental assessment and rating system. More The GBI is seeking educational partnerships with home builder associations (HBAs) that want to utilize our new virtual green training program. New partners to date include the Texas Association of Builders, the Home Builders and Remodelers Association of New Hampshire and the Home Builders Association of Chicago. More |
